Friday Feb 8, 2002

OK, well I finally made it here! I regsitered a couple of weeks ago but haven't put fingers to keyboard until now.  Hmm....what to say?  I really don't need another website, and to tell you the truth I only registered so I could comment on Janis' weblogs!  Perhaps I'll think of something worthy enough to post another time.

I may as well tell you something about myself.  For those who don't know, I moved to Sydney (from Melbourne) about 6 months ago.  It was difficult to move away from my friends and family, and although I don't exactly get homesick, I do miss my friends very much.  However, one of the bonuses of moving interstate is leaning about a new place. I have two new 'bibles' now:

1) Gregory's Sydney 2002 compact street directory: small enough and light enough to carry with me everywhere, and

2) 200 kilometres around Sydney, your essential guide to Sydney and surrounds.

With the aid of these two books, I intend to explore Sydney.  People often don't explore the places they live.  They go away on holidays and do all the touristy stuff they can, and yet they often don't know the place they live in with the same intimacy.  I rent a small apartment close to the city which I think is a great place to explore from, so stay tuned for future adventures.

That's all.  Signing out from my first weblog.

CK
